Chelsea Football Club supports Pack Safe Appeal
Last week, the Pack Safe Appeal was featured in Chelsea’s Europa Conference League match-day programme ⚽️.
Hudson was a lifelong Chelsea supporter and season ticket holder, whose unfaltering optimism was well known around the West Stand Lower, the section where he sat with his brother Jordan, or father Paul.
“Hudson was probably one of the most positive people you could ever meet,” says Jordan. “If a player wasn’t playing very well, he always used to give them encouragement. He would always think we were going to win, and predicted 4 or 5-0 wins. Even when we were playing badly he would say, ‘Oh, they’re just having
an off day, let’s give them a break.’ He always had a positive spin and a smile on his face.”
After Hudson lost his life to carbon monoxide poisoning last August while travelling in Quito, Ecuador, his family have launched a campaign to help save young lives. The Pack Safe Appeal urges people, especially young travellers, to pack a carbon monoxide alarm - a £20 device that could save a life.
In his memory, Chelsea Football Club are supporting the campaign, promoting the campaign in their match-day programme on August 22nd to help raise awareness. Hudson’s family and friends attended the game, which Chelsea won. The beautiful tribute is testament to the hard work of Hudson’s family in their efforts to ensure young travellers are protected from the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning.
