Safer Tourism urges travel industry to take immediate climate action

Safer Tourism Foundation, the campaigning charity that aims to save lives and reduce preventable injury and illness to people on holiday, supportws the global Climate Strike to urge travel industry decision makers to take immediate climate action.
The Safer Tourism Foundation works directly with tour operators as well as the travelling public, sharing evidence, experience and best practice to help better manage holiday risks.
Katherine Atkinson, Safer Tourism Foundation’s CEO says: “We want travel to be a force for good, for all those it affects, and that includes supporting responsible travel and sustainable tourism”.
She continues: “The Safer Tourism Foundation is committed to limiting its carbon footprint and we rarely travel by air. As an early adopter of carbon offsetting, Safer Tourism hopes the travel industry – from travel agents, to conference organisers, to tour operators – will follow our lead, and ensure all travel, whether for business or pleasure, is done in a sustainable way.”
