Don’t leave a friend behind

After her friend and colleague died after falling from a height, Magaluf bar worker, Gio Hague decided not enough was being done to save young people’s lives.

Her poster campaign, Don’t Leave A Friend Behind was launched a year ago, to warn young people to stay safe on holiday.

Gio has been in great demand, working with the Foreign Office, ITV and with of course, with the Safer Tourism Foundation, to deliver a straight-talking message about the things she has seen and how tourists need to be more aware to avoid death, injury and illness.

We were privileged to work with Gio on a number of videos and congratulate her for her year of campaigning.

Here, in her own words, Gio describes the events leading to the creation of the Don’t Leave a Friend Behind campaign.
