You need to check the Entry Requirements for the country you plan to visit.  Check the government’s Travel Advice website for details.

Most countries require 6 months validity on your British passport.  Some require additional travel visas or Passenger Locator Forms. 

There are now new entry requirements for most destinations relating to coronavirus.  Countries will either require proof of vaccination or evidence of a negative test.  Others will carry out some kind of health screening on arrival, including a COVID-19 PCR swab test.  Check www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice and check what information your destination requires.

You will need to allow plenty of time to get your paperwork in order.  The passport office is advising it can take up to 10 weeks to process applications.
